Active & Passive Sentences

The boy was buying a banana.
This sentence is in active voice.
The banana is bought by the boy.
This sentence is in passive voice.
  1. Write a title of Active Sentences then copy the sentences underneath that are in active voice.
  2. Write a title of Passive Sentences then copy the sentences underneath that are in passive voice.
  • The dragon was eating the knight.
  • The cat was being stroked by the evil professor.
  • The girl was riding the horse.
  • The father was hanging out the washing.
  • The lamppost was being sniffed by the dog.
  • The teacher tripped over the football.
  • The aardvark was mending the bicycle.
  • The broom was being flown by Harry.
  • The phone was being used by Mr. Bell.
  • The child was opening the present.

3. Now try to change the active sentences to passive sentences and the passive sentences to active sentences.
