You need 2 chime bars and 1 beater. You need to find answers to the following questions.

1. Which chime bar has a higher sound and which has a lower sound?

2. Why do you think this is?

3. How would you make a louder sound on a chime bar?

4. Can you make the sound of a chime bar different? If you can how?

Elastic Band investigation

You will need some elastic bands. You need to find answers to the following questions.

1. Do all elastic bands sound the same when they are plucked? If they don't why do you think this is?

2. How can you alter the pitch of an elastic band whilst you pluck it?

3. Can you make you elastic band sound louder in anyway apart from plucking it more strongly?
