Number of the Day
I was sent in a selection of 'number of the day' activity cards by Sash Hamidi.

Create a pack of 'Number of the Day' cards with different number challenges on each card (an example is shown further down the page). Each day/week choose a number that the operations on each card have to be performed on. You could do various things with these cards. You could challenge children in the class to respond orally to the questions within a set time limit. The cards could be provided as an extension once the main activity has been completed. Or you could use the cards as a separate 10 minute activity during the day.

Mental Challenges

multiply by 2
add 12, then subtract 5
multiply by 3 then add 3
multiply by 4 then find half
add the number 5 times
subtract 15
multiply by 10 and divide by 5
add to these numbers 4,8,9
multiply by 100
write down multiples of it
