Silent Maths
Idea contributed by Clare Harrison

Clare writes: "A favourite game played in my maths sessions is silent maths. It's played using fingers only. The teacher makes the signs using fingers. crosssed fingers for add and times, one finger put horisontally for take away and one horizontal finger in the middle of the gap between forefinger and thumb of opposite had for divide. The teacher gives a sum showing numbers as the amount of fingers shown and the sign as above. Children have to respond using their fingers only."
